Why do so many music lovers still choose vinyl records in 2023? Do they really sound better than their digital counterparts? Which pressings sound best? And what about the differences between record players, tonearms or cartridges?
This vinyl workshop is a unique opportunity to experience and compare a number of superb analog setups with your own ears. Discover also how analog playback compares to hi-res streaming.

13-14h: Rega NAIA with Aphelion 2 cartridge presentation. NAIA is the new flagship model from British turntable specialist Rega. It is the long-awaited production version of the Rega NAIAD – a cost-no-object concept turntable – now available at a considerably lower price.
14-15h: Sven Van Laere guides us through the wide range of high quality Audio Technica phono cartridges. Listen for yourself how different diamond cuts, cantilever material and electro-mechanical design impact the sound. The focus is on the affordable Moving Magnet and Moving Coil gems as well as the more exotic ART series.
To bring everything to its full potential we use the legendary Technics SP10R turntable, mounted in an OMA plinth and equipped with the Dynavector DV-507mk2 tonearm. A pinnacle of industrial design.
15-17h: Frederik Goossens – compelling storyteller and music lecturer – explores the impact that different vinyl pressings or masters have on sound quality. He draws from his rich vinyl collection and is happy to share his sometimes surprising discoveries with you. In this session we also compare how the same recordings sound through hi-res streaming on our reference Naim ND555 streamer..
17-18h: Supatrac Blackbird tonearm demo’s. The Blackbird is a new turntable tone arm with a revolutionary patented ‘Sideways Uni-Pivot Arm’ bearing which outperforms most traditional tone arms. This tone arm is demonstrated on our technics SP10R but is compatible with most turntables.
