The direct successor to the Luxman D-03R
The new Luxman D-03R compact disc player has been designed as the direct successor to the Luxman D-03R and, as already mentioned, is primarily aimed at particularly discerning music lovers who want to enjoy their audio CDs with maximum sound fidelity.
Steel support plate protects against vibrations
The basis for this is once again a drive that ensures optimum balance, short signal paths and vibration-free data extraction, according to the manufacturer. A newly designed steel base with a material thickness of 3.2 mm and a resonance-free box structure consistently shield the drive against interference and ensure permanently stable playback.
DAC with ROHM Technology
For signal processing, ROHM BD34352EKV DACs in dual-mono configuration are used for maximum resolution and channel separation. Even though the Luxman D-03R compact disc player itself can only play so-called MQA CDs in addition to audio CDs, but not Super Audio CDs, it still supports signal processing with up to 32 bits and 384 kHz for signals in Linear PCM, as well as DSD up to DSD512 and offers not only high-precision clocks, but also the option of adapting the playback to your own preferences using various filter characteristics.
In order to exploit the full potential of the D/A converter, the Luxman D-03R compact disc player has an optical and coaxial S/PDIF interface for connecting external sources. The connection to a PC or Mac is made via a USB-B port.
Fully balanced output stage
The analogue output stage of the Luxman D-03R Compact Disc Player is fully balanced and therefore not only a pair of RCA connections for unbalanced signals, but also a pair of XLR connections for balanced signals are available. For the sake of completeness, it should also be noted that the Luxman D-03R Compact Disc Player has both an optical and coaxial S/PDIF interface as digital outputs.
High-quality power supply
Special attention was also paid to the power supply, which is based on a toroidal transformer and utilises separate voltage regulators for all components. Elaborately designed conductor paths and high-quality components also guarantee a loss-free signal and therefore an accurate performance.
Puristic design, new display and elegant finish
According to the manufacturer, the housing of the Luxman D-03R compact disc player combines classic design with modern details. The front panel in blasted white finish gives the device an elegant and timeless look. A high-contrast OLED display with zoom function and automatic dimming ensures excellent readability.
