Why Sapphire?
In the Series II tonearms, the total rigidity improvements allow us to use an arm tube that is even stiffer than the TA-AF’s alumina ceramics. Monocrystalline sapphire has an elastic modulus of 460 GPa. It is 1/3rd more rigid than the TA-AF’s alumina ceramics, 4 times better than titanium, and almost 7 times stiffer than the aluminium alloy tubes employed by most tonearms.
Sonically, sapphire exceeds all expectations. Blacker backgrounds, deeper bass, smoother highs, and a significant reduction in surface noise. And even more explosive, life-like dynamics.
